Jake Sloan of the Leduc Woodbend Oil Kings has been named the AMBHL Player of the Month and WHL Prospect of the Month for December. Sloan and the Woodbend Oil Kings went on a tear in December winning all five of their games outscoring their opponents 23-10 in the process.
Sloan scored seven goals and six assists in five games recording multiple points in each game of December. His best effort came against Lloydminster where he notched a hat trick and added a helper in a 5-3 win. On the season Sloan leads the AMBHL in scoring tallying 25 goals and 20 assists for 45 points in just 19 games. His 2.3 points per game and 25 goals are most in the AMBHL respectively. His most impressive stat may be that Sloan has factored in on 50% of the Woodbend Oil Kings scoring this year.
Sloans big month mirrored his teams who are tied for first place but have a game in hand and one more win, 14, than the Lloydminster Fountain Tire Bobcats. As we head into the Christmas break the race for the playoffs is heating up. To stay up to date on all the scores and stats visit the AMBHL website.
