Congratulations to University of Saskatchewan Goalie & Former Leduc Oil King Jordan Cooke! Cooke has been named to the Canadian University team that will play two exhibition games against Canada's national junior team prospects in Toronto on December 12 and 13. Cooke is the starting goalie for the top ranked U of S Huskies.
Former Midget AAA Oil King player Preston Eshenko received an Academic Excellence Award from Augustana University. He was honored for excelling not only on the ice but in the classroom. Eshenko last played for the Oil Kings in 2012.
Leduc's Nick Schneider attended the Calgary Flames rookie camp and signed a contract. Schneider who was not drafted in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft signed a 3 year entry level contract after attending the Flames camp as an undrafted free agent.
LJAC Alumnus Justin Young of Leduc has committed to Alaska Fairbanks of the NCAA. Young currently plays for the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL.
