MMAAA Oil Kings Capture Silver
The Leduc Techmation Midget Minor AAA Oil Kings had a great run leading the pack in the Midget AAA Provincials after the round robin with a 5-1 record. In the semi-final they defeated Calgary to advance to the gold medal game against the Sherwood Park Squires.
Leduc scored first but a disappointing first ten minutes of the 2nd period would do the Oil Kings in as they gave up three unanswered goals to go down 4-1. Leduc would forge back and narrow it to 5-3 but despite some frantic play could not beat the Park goaltender. An empty net goal with 1.2 seconds remaining would seal the win for Sherwood Park 6-3.
This silver medal capped a brilliant year by the 15's. Congratulations to all team members and the coaching staff of Andrew Pirzak and Dylan Ryan. Fantastic effort by everyone.
