Oil Kings Rec 4 on 4 Spring Hockey League

The Leduc Junior Athletic Club (LJAC) is organizing the Oil Kings Spring 4 on 4 Hockey League at the Leduc Recreation Center with support of the Leduc Minor Hockey Association.  The League will start once Alberta Health Services Guidelines allow and will run for 6-10 weeks depending on when we can get started.  The League will absolutely adhere to all AHS and City of Leduc Guidelines and ensure the health and safety of all participants is our number one priority.  Our hope is to have the League run from April 5 to May 31 with one ice session per week . 

We have a lot of unknowns at this point, but we are committed to doing what we can within the AHS Guidelines.   We are hopeful we can return to the 50 person cohorts and have 4 equal as possible teams play within a division.  Registration space will be limited.

The Oil Kings Spring 4 on 4 Hockey League's main focus will be getting the players back on skates and having fun on the ice. 

• If numbers allow, we hope to run U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18 Divisions (Novice to Midget).
• All divisions will be non-contact.
• The League will be focused on "organized shinny" with rules designed to encourage fast fun hockey with even shift lengths and minimal whistles.
• This League is not designed for the Super Competitive "AAA" Spring Club Teams who will be practicing twice a week and travelling on weekends.  
• We are open to boys and girls in all skill levels and will be focused on fun recreational hockey.  We control what teams can register and who plays who on a weekly basis and we will do our best to keep the games as close and fun as possible. 
• Players can register as individuals or full teams.
• Registration will be $275 per player based on 8 weeks and include an LJAC Jersey and all proper insurances.
• The team registration fee is $2,750. (Recommended you have 10-12 skaters plus a goalie)
• A $25 refund will be provided for every week missed due to COVID restrictions .  
• We hope to create separate cohorted divisions in each age level with an individual players group and a registered team group. 
• The skill level of the players/teams will be considered before accepting any registration in the League.
• Based upon ice availably we hope to have set nights of week for each age division. 
• U9 (2012/2013)- Monday
• U11 (2010/2011) - Tuesday
• U13 (2008/2009) - Wednesday
• U15 (2006/2007) - Thursday
• U18 (2003/2004/2005) - Thursday *** Age divisions are based on the 2020/2021 season

PRE-REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

To reserve your spot in the Oil Kings Spring 4 on 4 Hockey League you can register today.   We are not charging anything for you to pre-register, we are just wanting to get an idea of interest in the League.  We will not charge any funds until we know the League can run within the Spring Health guidelines.   We may need to max out our registrations numbers and priority will be given to those who pre-register.  First come first serve. The registration deadline is TBD until we have a clearer picture of what the AHS regulations will be this Spring.
