Vaccination Exemption Program

Please be advised that as of 8:00pm this evening, the province of Alberta announced that it will be up to each municipality to decide if they would allow youth under the age of 18 to participate in organized youth sport without needing to present a vaccine record or a negative PCR test if the facility is participating in the Restrictions Exemption Program.

The City of Leduc will be allowing all youth under the age of 18 who are actively participating in scheduled youth sports at the Leduc Recreation Centre & Alex Arena participate without needing to present a vaccine record or a negative PCR test. Please keep in mind that other municipalities that have teams within the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) will have their own rules and regulations when it comes to scheduled youth sport COVID protocols so please be very cognizant of those protocols.

Key takeaways and clarification from today’s changes:

  • Proof of vaccination, medical exemption or privately-paid negative COVID test for persons 12 years of age or older if not actively participating in youth activity to enter the Leduc Rec Centre or the Alex Arena. ie; friends, siblings etc.

 

  • Proof ofvaccination, medical exemption or privately-paid negative COVID test for persons that are 18 years or older to enter the Leduc Rec Centre or the Alex Arena. ie; parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, older siblings etc. 

 

  • Medical exemptions are to be shown upon entry into the Leduc Rec Centre or Alex Arena

 

  • Privately-paid negative COVID test taken within prior 72 hours are to be shown upon entry into the Leduc Rec Centre or Alex Arena.

 

  • Proof of vaccination and ID (for 18 years and older) Vaccination record must show:

                   1st dose received at least 14 days prior to the date of entry to the Leduc Rec Centre or the Alex Arena

                   After October 25, two doses* received at least 14 days prior (October 11)

 

  • Johnson & Johnson is a single dose vaccine.

 

  • Face masks are required in all indoor public spaces, regardless of whether the operator is participating in the REP.

 

  • Individuals who have COVID symptoms must isolate, in accordance with CMOH Order 39-2021.
